Hi all I made an announcement that I was livestreaming before, but I took it down because it wasn't nearly as fluid as I wanted it to be, so I temporarily took it down. Sims 4 is really fun, but trying to make a family of 2 seem interesting when one is typically at work, and the other is just spending hours standing in front of an easel to level painting is not all that exciting. So now I have a family of 8 in one giant house, consisting of Daniel, Gordon, Jeff, Kei, April, Edea, Elly, and Lucy. Also, I'm using a webcam if you want to see what I look like!www.twitch.tv/wallingamingEpisodes 01 through 04 are available as past broadcasts on Twitch. 01 - One Big Family, where I show off creating a brand new oversized house for my Sims, and start to play the game. 02 - Getting to Know You, where my Sims start to take shape. 03 - Progress!, where skills and job advancement begin to move forward. 04 - It All Falls Apart!, where everything utility breaks, people get into the tub with their clothes on... it's really just chaos. They're are also being exported to YouTube, in case Twitch isn't working that well for you (I know some people have a terrible time trying to watch both the live and the past broadcasts. I enjoyed watching your game today. It was funny how everything kept breaking! I still think you should do a DD household. I uploaded my Simself today, under MiaSkywalker, so you can find it. I think every DD stalker should upload a Sim and let everyone know the name in the gallery, so those playing Sims 4 can make DD households. It will be fun to see ourselves in your games, even if we can't play Sims 4 yet!

Thanks Mia and Jodi for watching, and anyone else who may have stopped by! If anyone does have any Sims on the Gallery, let me know! I'd love to snag them for some mayhem!

Thanks for doing this, David . It gives a ray of hope for the games' future. I watched your feed yesterday ( your household of 8 ) but haven't watched the 3 previous ones yet or the others that followed it. Only problem I had was it stopped for a few seconds a couple of times otherwise it was great. I liked that you had your webcam up. Good to finally put a real face to the username . Maybe someday I'll be brave enough to do likewise. Your voice reminds me a great deal of my # 2 Son-In-Law ( very pleasant sounding ). I only made one Sim in the TS4 CAS demo. I'll have to find her and let you know ( I can't even remember what I named her ).

I thought it was hilarious that every item in the house that could break, DID break. Or at least it seemed like it. You've gotten me in the mood to play some Sims 3 today, although I'm still going to watch your feed for a while. I'm a bit depressed about something going on over at the main forums, and kind of want to stay away from them for a while. Oh, and Ashley (Cogitotoro) uploaded her Sim today. She said she hadn't realized it wasn't uploaded. So there's another DDer you can add for when you finally make a DD household. I can't wait until you can start making dance videos from Sims 4. That will be cool.

Daaaaviiiiid! You're supposed to be live-streaming today! I wanted to watch you play Sims 4 for a while! Guess that means I'll just have to play Sims 3 for a while instead. Well, I did want to play a Hidden Springs game (I never have), so I can torture Liam O'Dourke. I even downloaded him from the Exchange so I can do this. I even downloaded a mod that will allow a Sim to do a Darth Vader choke thing on another Sim. I think I may use that on Liam.

I thought he'd married one of my Sims. I could have him confused with another Sim, there's at least one nebbishy looking type in HS.

Sorry Mia! I'm still playing, but unfortunately it's been more and more difficult to get into livestreaming the last couple of days... I thought it was going to be a lot more exciting when I started and I fully intended to stream for like 16 hours a day, but it's actually pretty lonely. It was really fun when you were there and I got to talk to you, and on the first night I also had people from the DD watching and talking with me, which is what I was hoping it was going to be like all the time when I initially started it. I had a lot of plans to show things, answer questions, and many other aspects of the game. But the reality is that I'm either always alone, or entertaining a stranger or two who barely say anything besides hi, and usually leave a couple of minutes later. That kind of puts pressure on me to go out of my way to make things interesting, or I just feel self-conscious a lot, and it's a bit disheartening to see people come and go like that. Or in the case of yesterday when I tried, the two out of the three people who came in were kind of just trolls and each made sexual remark at me - which I ignored, but it was really sad that those are the only people who wanted to stop by... I had thought I would've had a bigger following, but people either already own it, are too busy, or they don't seem to want to learn about Sims 4, so they don't bother watching at all. I had a bunch of people tell me they were interested and going to watch, but hours go by and no one comes in. I want to keep doing it, that's why I had taken the week off work and bought the web camera a couple months ago in the first place, but it's just not turning out well at all. I don't mind still doing videos, but there's no reason at all to bother livestreaming if there's no one to talk to, otherwise it's just a prerecorded Let's Play video that I could post on YouTube like I used to do. But based on viewer counts, it doesn't look like anyone is even watching the replays. I've tried posting in a bunch of places to generate interest, but nothing is helping, so I can only assume that people don't care. That's fine, and people shouldn't force themselves to watch it, but it's hard to enjoy livestreaming when I think I'm the only one watching. I'm still recording my sessions, but I'm not using the mic since it feels silly to be talking when I think I'm just talking to myself and no one is listening, if that makes sense. I will probably continue to do some tonight and this week, but if nothing changes, I'm not sure how I'll have the motivation to keep going. Had I realized you were around (or really anyone), I would gladly do it, cause I really did enjoy talking with you and knowing it was a fun distraction for you so it made it worthwhile. But I'm not sure how I would coordinate that kind of stuff.

Oh, I see! I'm in classes all day Tuesdays and Thursdays, so wasn't able to go on. I'm too exhausted when I get home to do much more than eat dinner and then go straight to bed. I took a break on Weds from studying and watched you for a while, although I didn't say anything at first. (That was because I couldn't even log on - took a while to get that fixed.) Yeah, I can see doing just the videos and not live stream might be easier on you. Not as much pressure, and that way you can post just the parts you find most interesting. (Like when everything was breaking down in their house!) It may be that a lot of people have it and are playing it, or it may be that people just want to watch for a short while, see what the game play is like, and that's enough. I can tell you that so far it seems like it would be fun. Similar enough to Sims 3 that I wouldn't feel like I'm learning a whole new game, but different enough to be interesting. The graphics aren't as bad as I thought they would be; the hair might look plasticky, but since generally you aren't in each Sim's face, that isn't critical. I also know why the hair is like that. I did 3D modeling for a while (I'm not that good at it, but I learned a lot about it), and the higher the poly count, the more it can lag a game. They're trying to lower the poly count so people don't get a lot of stutter and drag, or - even worse - game crashes due to being out of memory. I'm sure some CC hairs will come out that have a higher poly count; knowing what I do now about 3D rendering, I may be less inclined to download those than I used to be. Overall, though, the game movement is smooth and fairly realistic (at least as realistic as Sims are going to be), and the artwork of the furniture is nice. The current game styles don't appeal to me yet, and I'm still annoyed with the lack of CASt, but it's not a total loss. The game seems much harder keeping everyone happy; I suppose that's what cheats and mods are for. I do think you should create a DD household and post videos of it, even if you only link those videos here. I think you're one of the few DDers who has Sims 4 at the moment, so that makes you responsible! Btw, I have your channel open at the moment, and would happily watch you for a while. I'm doing some other stuff on my computer but nothing I don't mind being very distracted from.

Jess, you should watch the last hour of the broadcast that he labeled "It all falls apart!" It was hilarious - every item in his house kept breaking over and over! I swear, the Sims in Sims 4 are clumsy! I'd almost want a mod that prevents things from breaking that quickly, except it's just too funny! (And it helps to get your repair skill up.) In last night's he took a rocketship into space and had an encounter with an alien (but it was a rabbithole encounter, so you didn't get to see the alien), but I'm not sure how much of yesterday's he posted. We did learn a few things about which options to select for some of the chance cards.

Thanks for tuning in, Jess!!! All of the episodes are automatically archived on Twitch as the current broadcast ends (which is great, because the same program I use to broadcast also saves a local copy of the recording to my computer - except when the program crashed and the stream went down last night, the local copy got corrupted, but thankfully I can get it from Twitch!), so everything I've done so far is up there. I've finished renaming them. You can seriously skip Episode 05, nothing much happened at all besides slow skill ups, and I was uncomfortable half the time with the weirdos in the chat then. Also, a special sneak peek of what will be coming on a certain Sim's birthday in two weeks...
