I like that it doesn't display how many times you edited your post! No embarrassment from editing my post more than 5 times! LOL, indeed! I hate it when I make a typo or something... and then want to add an extra word... and get rid of something. "Why did Wallin edit his post 4 times? Weirdo..." lol Yeah. I think I've edited things 20 times before...between typos, adding and removing things, fixing links/photos, etc. Now, THAT looks bad!

I'm not sure if we knew this already, but SimGuruTatertot just Tweeted (like a day ago *embarrassed smiley*) about WHY the forums are down for a bit: Apparently, they're being migrated to thesims.com By the time she posted that most of the people on the forums had already jumped to conclusions. Heck, some people couldn't seem to grasp that just the forums were under maintenance and were expecting the ads to go away. I know. So many conclusions were jumped to... everyone freaked out. Really though, couldn't they have told us that in the FIRST PLACE? Also. You can RESIZE EMOTICONS on this forum!Edit: Bwahaha it didn't like that. You can't. Nope.

Well, that's interesting. We better not be losing any threads in the process... Any competent web programmer could transfer a forum from one software to another and not lose any data. But were talking about EA here so...

Got WoW! And we ate dinner. It's a win/win night. Hope it comes around again within the next few deals for anyone still awake that missed it this time. Yah, I saw WoW was at the bottom of the list of deals (with the couch above it) when it was on the prior deal, when I was called to dinner. Watching the DD for a couple of hours or eating rack of lamb and sweet corn on the cob? Rack of lamb and corn on the cob wins. I would have done the same, rack and cob for sure I took my laptop out to the kitchen table so I could watch it while I cooked dinner. I believe I stalled things a bit but oh well, no one starved. I tried something different this time. When it was at like 98%, I kept the DD page up on one tab and then rather than having the WoW page open, I opened the Venue page and kept that one as the active/open page. I watched the DD tab and when I saw that it was beginning to cycle, I hit WoW from the Venue page...and with luck it worked. Don't know if that will work every time for everyone but I've run into problems with tabs/pages trying to refresh at the same time and they both end up being unusable. It's good to see that ads have been hitting pretty well. I'm going to move my computer back to it's normal spot and try for some myself.

I like that it doesn't display how many times you edited your post! No embarrassment from editing my post more than 5 times! And when you do edit, you can explain your edit in the little "explain your edit" optional box, and I'm guessing then it won't keep showing up in everybody's posts when they quote you. Awesome. Okay, I'm putting in a picture of a Sim I'm currently working on in CAS, just to test out inserting images. It's supposed to be Matt Damon, but I cannot get him to look right. I can see Matt Damon - even before I read who it is supposed to be - I don't know if it is the nose or the lips - but you are so close - I need a picture of him in front of me because the more I look at him...... I just can't put my finger on what is keeping him from being Matt Damon - I mean besides the fact that he is a S4 CAS Demo Sim I have seen your work in your signature on the regular forum - and I must say you have gotten very good at making sims.

Is anyone else having issues with the Daily Deals? The items I already have last the entire 2-3 hours; but the ones I don't have disappear in less than a minute, and it won't let me claim them. It happens every time. Hi! I'm not sure what your question is - maybe it's because it's late and I'm tired. I'm guessing that you already have stuff that has been around a long time, has been on the Sale and Daily Deal pages a lot, and is easy to get with CYS; and that the stuff you don't have is the new and rarely on sale stuff. This would mean many other people have the same things you do, so there aren't as many takers for the deals on those items, and lots of other people lack the same things you lack, so everybody wants to buy those things when they come up on the Daily Deal. Or am I missing something?

I never think anything of it, especially if there are links or images in the post. I've always just assumed you had to edit a link or add a photo, and never thought anything bad of it. Otoh, when I've had to do it, I've felt embarrassed. From my psych courses, I could tell you that it is just normal narcissism that everyone has. And before you think, "Oh no, now I'm narcissistic!" actually, those who don't HAVE this sort of narcissism generally have extremely low self-esteem. There's a little narcissism in everyone, and that's a good thing. That's the Psych B.A. in me talking. Yeah. (looks embarrassed)

This time, it didn't immediately end. I clicked Buy Now! but nothing happened. I tried several times, but it wouldn't react to me clicking it, then suddenly after 30 seconds, it ended.

This time, it didn't immediately end. I clicked Buy Now! but nothing happened. I tried several times, but it wouldn't react to me clicking it, then suddenly after 30 seconds, it ended. That happened to me on one of the deals earlier. (Make a Wish) The green download button was there, but clicking it did nothing. It's because the servers are getting hit so hard in that moment that not everything on the page loads properly. That's one reason to buy it from the set/venue page if it's going to be a popular item, but even that doesn't always work. (I was on the Make a Wish set page when that happened to me.) It's just bad luck, because the servers are so freaked with so many people refreshing at once. Nothing you can do about it, because others are in the same boat, unfortunately. We have a thread on the forums asking them to not have 30 second sell-outs like this, but to give each deal a minimum of 5 minutes or something, no matter how "many" of the item are offered. EA doesn't want to do that, so we're just stuck with this. It just means to be patient. In the last list, the bakery came up several times, and the list rotated several times. The first few times it sold out so fast you never saw it in the DD page. By the third rotation of the list, anyone who wanted it easily had a chance to get it. So it will happen for you. This was just the first time World of Wonder has EVER been on sale, and considering it's so new that very few have it, it was going to go fast. (I'm presuming that was the one you were talking about, although I could be wrong.)

The sweater went the full duration. Are we surprised? ETA: Hey! I just realized you are a Darwin Dealer! I take it you can change what the member types are? Is there any way you can tell us what the number of stars are? I'm just curious.

It gets easier if you remember that everyone else is more concerned about how THEY look than how YOU look, so they're a lot less likely to notice your errors than you are. It's only in high school that you get situations where these types of things matter that much. (Other than acting professionally for a job or workplace, but that's a different story.)

I've had it happen several times, but these are new sets, so it'll probably be months before I get them. lol The last one was the Brunch at the Old Mill set, which was only available twice, a month ago. This one was the World of Wonder set, and this is the first time I've seen it available, so it will definitely be a while. Then next will be the Amore set. I'm just anxious to play them is all.

Is there any way you can tell us what the number of stars are? I'm just curious. Been a while since I played around with these forums. I was trying to get rid of the Administrator title to make myself less daunting and replace it with Darwin Dealer, didn't do it right. LOL. Currently the rankings are as follows: Sale Seeker - 1 Star (0 posts) Sim Store Shopper - 2 Stars (5 posts) Daily Deal Drifter - 3 Stars (10 posts) Bargain Bagger - 4 Stars (25 posts) Grabbed That Deal! - 5 Stars (50 posts) I can always add more. For some reason, I didn't expect there to be so much discussion! So far 29 people registered, too, wasn't expecting that at all!
