My intense desire to check things off lists says PRINT THE BOOK and check things off. My head so I should go through an entire ream of paper to make a check list. Awesome job putting this together!

Oh Erin. This is beautiful, nicely organized and very useful.
One thing I started working on, but is a huge task and I shelved it for now, was an excel spreadsheet to help find the items in the build/buy mode catalogue. I noticed that if you know which in-game category an item can be found in, then the items are sorted by the price in simoleons (not Sims 3 online store prices). I had started with Miscellaneous Decor since that section is the most difficult to find an item.
Adding category and simoleon price would be a great addition to your catalogue. My Excel spreadsheet, based on Jen's amazing spreadsheet, does not have pictures. Before I found crinrict's store browser, I was creating an Access database. That would be my ultimate organizer project for my Sims game. If crinrict's browser added the in-game category and simoleon price, that would be great.
I have only been able to take a quick look at the document as I am viewing this during my work lunch break. This is a super tool and now I could see downloading and customizing for my use.

That sounds really cool! I'll have to take a look at it when I get home. I stopped by the DD thread, but I don't recognize any of the names there anymore. You don't recognize me?

I'm not even sure I saw your post in there... I said hi, and then there were like 10 pages about World of Wonder from people I didn't know, so I awkwardly backed out... Lol

David, all YOU would have to do is post a picture of Darwin. Everyone would be too busy drooling over him to talk!

You don't recognize me? I'm not even sure I saw your post in there... I said hi, and then there were like 10 pages about World of Wonder from people I didn't know, so I awkwardly backed out... Lol I've never got much involved in some of the long conversations on the thread so also feel a little like I'm late to the party sometimes and a bit awkward. To be honest I love the fact that we have yet another 'new generation' of SSAs getting so involved on the thread, really keeps the enthusiasm going. That said, it's great to know that some of the stalwarts (DD elders if I may be so bold) are still active and we get the occasional flying visit from those legendary names we speak of in hushed tones, like "Wallin" and his gorgeous Sims and crazy good videos I'm hoping that a new list will arrive soon and will see some more of our all-time great deal posters will be back again. Oh, BTW Erin. Love your catalogue document. Haven't been through it all yet, but knowing what all my items looks like and where it came from is so helpful!

Lol To be fair to you, I would not have been in the pages about WoW as I was at work. I could only peek in during my lunch. The DD is like a high school tv show. Eventually, the original students graduate and a new group comes in - like Glee. I should change my sim-self avatar since I am a DD elder, as Adrian referred to us. In OE, I still feel like I should be classified as adult and not elder (though in a few years I will be able to order from the seniors' menu.) The Sims 3 elders are so frumpy and from what I have seen in Sims 4 (thanks to WallinGaming) the elders are frumpy there too. However, I see that in Sims 4, my avatar could still be an adult but look more mature as I could use facial features like creased foreheads and (what are the lines called) the crease or definition between my cheeks and my nose and mouth.

Thanks for all of the support and feedback, everyone! It means so much to me that you all think it's nifty. My intense desire to check things off lists says PRINT THE BOOK and check things off. My head so I should go through an entire ream of paper to make a check list. Awesome job putting this together! Haha, that's where it all started for me (I have a rather compulsive urge to cross things off and tick things), but obviously it wasn't practical to stick with that once my Store collection got bigger and bigger. The little checkboxes (like the ones I trialed in the Riverview page) are the best I can do to satisfy that urge; I think I'd like to design a box so that you click the item itself and then a red diagonal line appears across the item, but that might get in the way and I haven't quite figured out if I can do that yet. Can you imagine how satisfying it would be to cross everything off like that!? This is a super tool and now I could see downloading and customizing for my use.   Thanks for the feedback, Jodi. That's exactly what I was thinking, although I'm still playing around with format. I think the comments boxes that disappear and expand are my best bet, so I might try to have one for each item (eventually!) that'll contain catalogue category, $ price and any other unusual facts (e.g. odd size, 'needs to be downloaded separately', comes with XX textures). That way, you can click the item for more information or the checkbox to say you've got it (or whatever else you might be sorting your content for).

LOL, you all are not elders... more like the teens of the DD thread. The new people are still in their excited child phase where everything is pretty. We're more the ones with the giant marble collection who think we know everything. And then there's the adult gurus who just like to prove you wrong with all of their power, and randomly make lists that never end and tell you "maybe you'll understand one day when you're older." Also, elders would never stay up as late as we did for some of the deals we got.

Oh dear, I hope you guys weren't thinking I was ascribing any particular age range to my fellow DD "elders"! Although I, and I am sure a few others, have achieved or are rapidly approaching a 'certain age' More 'elder' in the sense of: " a person who is higher in rank", or " an influential member of a tribe or community, often a chief or ruler; a superior", or even in the sense some churches use for a " lay member who is a governing officer" though perhaps not " member of the Melchizedek priesthood"! Though, I can't argue with David's description of the eager children let loose in a store full of shiny things ... We may not stay up late but frequently waking up at unfriendly hours of the night ... that is a bit like "elder" behaviour?

David and Adrian, thanks for the chuckles.
Erin, you have inspired me with your catalogue. I have dusted off my Excel spreadsheet and have gone back to indexing the decor items. I will gladly share my work with you. Sims 5 may be out by then, but I will still be playing the Sims 3.
