Mia, I have to admit I found his earlier posts strange with his over use of ellipses. I agree totally with Haldechick's comment.

Mia -- I noticed in a lot of his earlier posts he seemed to be trying to be "cool" and make himself look popular which I find to be a sure sign of immaturity. You did nothing that deserved that kind of response. Just know "we've got your back" .

Thank you, guys. It helps, knowing I'm not alone against him. I tried to be as kind as possible in my response to him, so the fact that he - as Haldechick put it - "went completely bonkers" disturbs me. It made me wonder if I could have worded it better. I was actually being quite careful to try not to offend, since I know it's easy to take offense at things you see on the internet, so I was taken aback that it would be twisted in this manner.
And then to target me for abuse reports and disagrees, that's even more disturbing. Did he think I personally put all those disagrees that apparently people put on his two posts? I saw all the disagrees on the first, and I'm told about the disagrees on the other. I put him on ignore on both my account and my best friend's account, so I won't be tempted to see his post from either, so I didn't actually see how many disagrees he got with his response. Or did he just figure that it had to be my "fault" that he got all those disagrees, since his post was in response to mine? That indicates a lack of ability to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions. He needs to blame someone else; since I was the one most obviously targetable, I was the one he was going to blame.
Still disturbing, and still depressing, even though I understand all of this intellectually.

Huh. So that's who flagged one of my posts. How immature! I hate to see someone coming on to such a nice, supportive thread and ruining the atmosphere. I've always thought his posts were a little weird, tbh. I wish instead of ignore we had a block, which would keep you from seeing their posts and them from seeing yours. I suppose even ignore is better than nothing like on the old forums though.

What a jerk! I was recently flagged for abuse for jokingly suggesting Lissa carry bug spray, in reference to the time she missed a deal because of ants.

He sounds incredibly immature and, young or not, that doesn't excuse that he is also being nasty. Mia, you tried being nice, and he didn't seem to care. And this is the problem with disagrees and public flagging. They can be used as a weapon like this. I wish everyone was mature enough to use features like that responsibly, but clearly some people are not. Honestly I think the "flagging" should be private, i.e. when you flag something it's just sent to the admins; do we really need a number publicly listed for how many flags something has gotten? Far too easy to abuse. I do hope the admins take action.

Lissa, that would be a superb idea. If the abuse/spam/report flags were private, people would be more careful about using them. It wouldn't be just a way to slap someone you don't like in the face, and you'd realize that the report is probably being sent to an admin for review. Therefore if you do a lot of them frivolously, YOUR account might be the one that ends up getting looked at.
I'm not sure that the admins are all that active on the forums, even though I believe it's a mistake for them to neglect it, particularly with a new game out. The mods that don't actually work for EA don't really have a lot of power; all they can do is forward reports on to the real admins at EA. I learned that a couple of days ago when lurking on a tech thread.

Mia, I have to admit I found his earlier posts strange with his over use of ellipses. I agree totally with Haldechick's comment. Over-use of ellipses is one of my pet peeves* -- I was a bit disappointed when I saw that we're limited to "ignoring" five users on thesims. Regardless, if he's behind the abuse flagging it'd be nice to see him banned. It'd be even nicer if the forum had a banned state like I've seen elsewhere: everything appears normal to the banned user, they think they're able to comment, post and flag things. But none of what they do is visible to anyone but themselves (and possibly a mod or two.) * Says the woman who got a bulk discount on dashes.

The person might wonder why no one ever replies or reacts to his/her comments, but then eventually would get frustrated and leave. I love it!

I have to say I love how little reaction his last rant got! I read it, and I thought, oh no, here we go, and then... nothing. Well done, everybody!

I love the fact that Marlin convinced the mods to get rid of all the Disagree flags he did, and most of the Abuse and Spam flags he made. Some of them they might not have gotten to yet. Or they might not be able to remove them for some reason. He had his little power trip, and then it was all erased, without any real furor from the thread, and mostly with it all being ignored. Must be frustrating to be him! Btw, who IS your avatar supposed to be? It always makes me laugh to see it!

She's so scary, she makes me laugh! I thought maybe she was intended to be a TV or cartoon character.

Okay, I'm linking to this from the main DD thread on the Sims forums. I finished my Store items checklist! Ta-dah!It all started back when I realised I was accumulating far too much of the Store (which seems like a total joke now), and someone mentioned that if you have the Fanciful Fashions set, you need to download the Bow Toe shoes separately. I have no idea if that's still the case, but I was not impressed; I used my base game/WA SimPoints on that set (and Animals Abound), only to find out FOUR years later I was missing an item the whole time! I was not so Store savvy back then, so I decided to get to know my content. Blah, blah, blah, I trialed a thousand and one checklist methods. Eventually, I started getting too much of the Store to keep printed lists, so when I got my little tablety laptop thing in March, I thought a touchscreen/interactive checklist would be AMAZING. So, I started meticulously cataloging the Store. Every. Single. Item. Pictures, names, grouped into sets, grouped into themes. Updated with every new purchase I made. In honour of owning the Store and having it in a WORKABLE condition, I've decided to release my baby for feedback. It is NOT finished. But, it has all of the normal pay items, plus the extra goodies that I've collected over the years. I don't know how useful it might be in unfinished form for other people, but I'd like a little testing on the basics of the format BEFORE I commit to fixing up the details. If something big doesn't work well and I have to restructure it all after I've already done the annoying detail parts, I'm gonna rage quit for sure! Things to note: - It's a big download (29mb), but I think you can view it online without downloading - Page numbers in the Table of Contents are not correct; I was originally working with an automatic ToC, but then that started breaking links and drove me insane, so I need to manually put in page numbers for each item (across the documents 380 pages - that is why I'm releasing it for testing now, since I'm not doing that and then changing lots of things!) - I've started putting links into the ToC, but have only gotten as far as the broad 'themes'; I'd like to add hyperlinks to each item in the Table of Contents (so that clicking on 'Riverview' takes you to the Riverview item page) and maybe also the thumbnails at the beginning of each section, but I'm worried that in the ToC all of those links would make it hard to read --> I'd really, really like feedback here - While 99% of the items have pictures from the site, there are a few that require in-game pics; I haven't done most of the CAS ones - As a checklist, I obviously want little checkmarks; I have to add these as a form in Acrobat after publishing the document, so I've only done a sample few on the Riverview page - I've tried to use the official EA Store name for items, even when there are typos or mistakes in the original - Items are categorised into some pretty loose and odd 'themes', that were the best I could come up with --> I'd love recommendations on better 'theme' titles and any changes I should make to the categorising So, I'd mostly like feedback on 1) what you think I should do with links, 2) whether the Riverview checkmarks seem to work and look okay and should be used on every item, 3) whether you think the 'themes' work well or some sets should be reshuffled/categories adjusted to make more sense and 4) whether, in general, everything seems okay. I'm sure there are plenty of little mistakes in there, but PLEASE do not sit there and try to find them all to help me out; I appreciate it if you spot one and let me know, but under NO circumstances should someone sit there and read through all 380 pages! That's just crazy. Ultimately, I'd like to get this skeleton arranged in the best way possible, so I can move on to making edits solely in the PDF. I'd love to have little comments on items, so you can hover over/click them and see where they can be found in the Build/Buy Modes, possibly how big they are if an unusual size (like the hot air balloon or gardening station), and just general bits and pieces if they're important. The Bow Tie shoes of Fanciful Fashions will have a huge red warning saying that they need to be downloaded separately. Phew! Well, let me know what you think and if this is even remotely something anyone here is interested in having me complete. Also, a HUGE thank you to Jodi who answered a lot of questions some six months ago about this; I would still be racking my brain for how to do things, if it wasn't for you!

That sounds really cool! I'll have to take a look at it when I get home. I stopped by the DD thread, but I don't recognize any of the names there anymore.
