I have a quick question regarding options/settings in the game... I just went in to change things around a bit to help the game run smoother, but it won't let me choose aging and how long each stage is. Is this because I need to actually be in a game, or am I missing something? Thanks! I don't know for sure, but my guess is that you do this when you're playing a household, since you can set it differently for different households. I'd try going into a save or new game and trying to make the changes there. Have you heard somewhere that some change of these settings makes the game run more smoothly? I'm curious too, now. Ohh ok, I thought that might be it. As far as changes, I just change the graphics a bit, since we don't have a very good graphics card and it seems to help my computer a bit. I change most settings to low..

Thanks so much for setting this board up. It's making the four hour drive home much easier.

Quite annoying really.

Yeah, I figured it out finally haha. Thanks.
Actually, I had one other question... in the store, sometimes you can finish a compilation (for example, Dec. 2011) for free, which is great...but when I look at my purchase history, why does it separate the compilation, also give you the compilation, and some single items that in it all separate? Do I get everything covered if I just download the compilation? Hope that makes sense.

I don't know if there is much difference between normal and long lifetimes, but choosing epic may be too much for game stability. I play with a "long" life and I have to "save as" frequently to have a (somewhat ) stable playing experience.

I keep getting this message when I try to install University Life:
Setup cannot continue because programs associated with The Sims 3 are currently running. Please stop these applications before attempting to run The Sims 3 University Life setup.
However, nothing is running as far as Sims 3 is concerned... ??
Edit: I realize it's a double post... sorry! This just happened 5 minutes ago.

Did you go through all your processes in task manager? Sometimes I see something there even though there shouldn't be. When there wasn't anything there either I've tried restarting the computer and that seemed to fix it.

Can pets not use the air tube elevator from Into the Future? I've never used it before and my cat keeps route failing.

Thank you all soooo much for the help! I worked on making the changes you all suggested, messed with him here there and everywhere and... he still doesn't look like Matt Damon. I think I'm giving up. I think he's just one of those people who can't be done - I'm still leaning toward the theory that it's what's asymmetrical about his face that makes him look like him. It's so frustrating though that you can make a sim where when you look at each individual feature, it looks right, but when you look at the sim as a whole it just doesn't look like the person. Anyway, here he is - if anyone has any brain flashes I'll probably still pull him up and mess with him once in a while, but maybe I'll wait and see if there are new hairstyles & colors, eye types, etc. with the later version to see if those things might help him. One more suggestion - his nose is more triangular and less straight than you have it. If you look at where the bridge of his nose is between his eyebrows, it's narrower than a little lower down. Yours is very straight. That, and the nostrils, are the two things I think are different. You may be right, that his asymmetry is part of what makes him Matt Damon, in which case, at least for now, you won't be able to complete him. Eventually you might, when mods come out. I'm terrible at making Sims, so I generally use Sims that I've downloaded and modified slightly. (I might change out skins and hair, and maybe tweak the face just a little.) My own Sims come out rather bland, so I prefer not to bother making them anymore.

I put together a collage of the first 16 Sims I made (not in order) and felt like sharing. Actual order of creation: Daniel, Keith, Janice, Felicia, Tyler, April, Alex, Nathan, Sandy, Sean, Charlie, Edward, Julian, Jeff, Kei, Rebecca I'm focusing more on guys right now because I feel like they're a lot harder to make... I think I'm starting to get the hang of it a little. Although I think I've run out of hairstyles I like, I'm trying not to repeat any as much as I can. I was practicing with the darker skintones at one point, and my demo actually got stuck - I could hear the audio, but the video was frozen.

Love the new board and the fun thread... and all these wonderful Sims! Thanks for setting up this forum, Wallin!
I wanted to let you know I tried to send you the new Amore venue earlier today as a little thank you but you already own it so I sent it to one of the others who has helped in the DD threads. [Randomly, I chose member Duyguugudur from Me1620's thread in the Gifting forum. I would have waited for the drawing but I only had enough remaining points to buy the venue on sale. Hope that's okay with everyone.]
I am *so happy* to see the DD finally move into a repeat status to save on the work load for poor Ximph.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Aww, well I truly appreciate the offer, all the same!!! I was able to get enough points from ads, finally. That was very generous of you to still give it to someone else instead though!

Duyguugudur's name will remain in the draw because if she is the winner, she is allowed to substitute the venue for another item or to share her winnings with friends.

Ahhh, you`re talking about the lottery thread I wanted to nominate Kuroi_nekomata but she already is on the list and now it`s too late to search for someone else. The deadline to post has ended.
