Tired of being ghostly grey and looking alien-like. I finally took a minute to register (yay!). My partner is outside mowing the lawn and I'm still at my computer. I better go make some cookies Love the avatar! And mmmmm, cookies...

I don't know where to post this but I had to share -- while checking to see if MMLMAO was going to give me anything good today (it didn't), I got a bonus simpoint ad... in Spanish, which is not my first language but I can get by in it, and it was for Dawn dishwashing liquid... but the focus was how it gets oil off birds. Uhm....? OK? Has there been an oil spill here in Florida that I don't know about....?

I know I've seen that commercial before back when the spill happened, so it's probably just an old ad they are reusing for some reason.

Something I was just pondering: I do not watch ads normally. Ever. I abhor them. I watch tv shows on Netflix (which I love because...no ads) and did not get Hulu because even though I would have access to episodes of shows closer to when they air, I would have to watch ads. I'd rather wait a year to see the shows than watch ads. I don't even know how to get regular channels on my TV and do not pay for cable because I don't want to watch ads. Since I became a DD stalker early this spring I have watched more ads than I have watched in years. I reload pages while anxiously awaiting the appearance of that blessed little blue rectangle. I will search through pages and pages of items to find one if they are being elusive. I am a bit downtrodden when they don't appear. So apparently, all you have to do to get me to watch an ad is offer me a nickle that cannot be converted into real money and only buys stuff that doesn't exist in the real world. Then put that imaginary stuff on sales to make it look more enticing and reasonably priced. Interesting. EA's evil plan worked. However, my sims are thrilled with all their new stuff.

LOL, my husband thinks I'm crazy for that very reason. I found so many ads yesterday and when I told him how many (yes, I started keeping track) he laughed at me.

Oh my gosh, I'm exactly the same way! I don't watch TV anymore because of ads. I don't watch Netflix either (didn't realize there were no ads, but I don't really have enough time to watch that to make it worth it), but I do watch DVDs. But with the store, I actually hunt for them and look forward to getting them! Hard to believe. Does that make us crazy?

Hey all! A new CAS question. Does this look like Martin Freeman as John Watson from Sherlock? I need a Watson for my Sherlock (who's now at almost 1200 downloads!). Thanks for any thoughts! I really want to get him right. Unfortunately I can't do his eye color (dark grey-blue-green) and the only hair they have is, I think, ridiculously high.

It's not perfect, but it is definitely recognizable as him. I'm not great at making sims so I don't have any suggestions for making it even closer.

Great work so far! I guess that the upper part of the nose should be a bit tighter.

So, I know this is OT, but this is an OT thread, and I just need to vent somewhere. Today was my first day of classes, and I'm exhausted. I couldn't find any place to sit for the two hours I had between classes, so I had to stand that whole time, and with my broken foot, that was painful. (My dad says there are places to sit in the same building, but he had trouble explaining to me this evening where they were, so he's going to go to campus with me on Friday to show me.) My hip and foot are killing me. Walking - even though painful to my foot - is easier on me than standing. The problem with standing is that the boot on that foot is higher than my other shoe, and I have to stand crooked, so it kills my hips. I am in pain right now. And even though this was the first day of classes, I already have a test on Thursday. I expected an assignment, but a test already? Yeesh! And studying tomorrow will be problematic; I have two doctor appointments tomorrow, one of which is an MRI. I haven't had an MRI in years, but I'm told it can take an hour or two. That will cut into my studying time. What a way to start off my semester!

I have a bad foot and even have to use a cane sometimes - I know we take simply being able to stand and walk without pain for granted! I'd ask about wearing a higher-heeled shoe on your non-broken foot to even things out, but I know that would just make me at least fall over since I can't function in heels , so it might be the same for you. I hope you're not claustrophobic; I find MRIs interesting, but probably because I associate them with brains, which you know I love . Anyway, best wishes on the test and the tests! Hope that foot and hip are better very soon.

Hope that foot and hip are better very soon. Actually, I absolutely CAN'T wear heels. Even before I broke my foot I was disabled; I have advanced peripheral neuropathy, and it's non-curable. Hence why I once said it feels like I walk on razor blades all the time. I also no longer have a sense of balance, so wearing heels would be disastrous for me. I have a friend with advanced MS, and he has to have an MRI every couple of months. When I called for an appointment, there were two places I could potentially have gone for the MRI. One of them I would only have had to insert my foot (they're trying to find out why my foot isn't healing after three months), and the other only does full body. Unfortunately, the only openings were in the hospital where I have to do full body. I'm not claustrophobic, it's just that I feel it's kind of a waste. I'm personally beginning to worry if it's the neuropathy holding on to the pain. My podiatrist told me the bone is no longer broken, but I still feel as much pain when I try to walk as I did when I first broke it. If this is permanent, it's really going to suck. Brains? Have you turned Zombie on us? "Braaaaaaainsssss!" I once made a computer picture of a brain with a bottle in the frontal lobes, with the caption: "I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than have to have a frontal lobotomy." I put the picture on the podium before one of my psych classes started one day, and the professor got a kick out of it.

We have hereditary peripheral neuropathy in my family. My dad is at the point where he can hardly walk, but it is amazing he is doing as well as he is at 85. He attributes it to joining a water aerobics class back when they discovered the problem in his early 60s. He attended the class religiously 3 times a week for 20 years, but now he can't make it as often. He just has a hard time getting around (and stubbornly refuses to use the very fancy chair he bought). My sister (in her 50's) is showing signs of it (hers is mostly extreme numbness). I worry that I will eventually have problems as well. Every little twinge makes me wonder. I will be thinking of you and hoping your tests bring answers. ETA: I just realized how many parenthesis I used (but am unwilling to change them because I am tired.)
