Checking out the new digs here. It's different but as welcoming as the D.D. forum. Very nice, thank you Wallin! Hoping that everyone is getting the deals they're trying for. I'm hoping that some of the sets and venues I still need finally show up.
Looking over the official forums is like walking through a ghost town. No action, not even a tumbleweed rolling down Main Street.
Off to find something productive to do since I spent the last couple of hours (or more) playing around with the Amore venue.
Happy Weekend All!

So here's Matt Damon and my Matt Damon Sim. Any advice would be great! I hate putting in a lot of time on a Sim and not being able to make it look right. I think one thing is that the real Matt Damon has all kinds of asymmetricalities on his face. One eye bigger than the other, his mouth crooks up at one side, etc. Another thing is that they don't have the right hairstyle or hair color. Still, though, there just seems to be something not quite right about his face... (Sorry for the giant Matt Damons - can't figure out how to resize pictures on this forum)

I feel like it's the eyes, but I'm not sure... I can't tell if they're a tiny bit too low, or maybe not open enough? Like someone said in the DD thread (or maybe it was you), it's so close... I feel like his face is a little squished vertically, but it might just be because there's so much forehead showing, mostly due to the haircut like you mentioned.
The only other difference I can see is the nostrils, they look like they should be squished in a little more, and higher... but I forget what the limitations are, so I'm not sure if that's even possible. And/or maybe make the tip of the nose wider...?
Just some first impressions anyway, accurate or not. Looks great, though!!!

It is hard to get his features properly squashed together - they're all as close as they will go. I'll keep working on him, though - I love getting one to the point where you recognize who it is on sight, and he's not quite there yet. Must... resist... doing it now! Need sleep.

I think his mouth is perfect. His chin and eyes are good too. Scrutinizing the photos, I would say it is the nose. The real MD's bridge seems wider. Also, his nostrils don't flare out as much. I did not receive TS4 CAS, so I have no idea if you can widen the bridge. Looking at the picture again, I think the real MD's jaw line is more oval.
I think your Sims are great. I mentioned in the main thread that your avatar is very realistic compared to the Sims I have seen in the posters and trailers for TS4. I have been meaning to ask if you have included Spike Lee and Lupita Nyong'o in your Sims forum signature.

Now we lost the Sim Pic of Matt from what I can recall - I wanna say the forehead is to much - broad or wide - I was moving the pic up and down and less forehead did make him look a little Mattier, and I think his nostrils did have a little too much flare and maybe the nose wasn't straight enough - does that make any sense. There is something about his jawline that is not quite right - it is just a shade off - it looks a little too strong on the Sim version. I hope I am not offending you - You are so close and I know the DEMO has its limitations - which drives me crazy - but these are the things that I am seeing and I only hope it helps Cailey

I also agree with me1620 here in that the bridge of his nose needs to be a bit wider.

Thank you all soooo much for the help! I worked on making the changes you all suggested, messed with him here there and everywhere and... he still doesn't look like Matt Damon. I think I'm giving up. I think he's just one of those people who can't be done - I'm still leaning toward the theory that it's what's asymmetrical about his face that makes him look like him. It's so frustrating though that you can make a sim where when you look at each individual feature, it looks right, but when you look at the sim as a whole it just doesn't look like the person. Anyway, here he is - if anyone has any brain flashes I'll probably still pull him up and mess with him once in a while, but maybe I'll wait and see if there are new hairstyles & colors, eye types, etc. with the later version to see if those things might help him.

Whether or not I'll buy the game is still up in the air. Yes, they are Spike Lee and Lupita Nyong'o! Glad you could recognize them. My most popular creation is my Sherlock. He passed 100 downloads recently and I got a little thrill... then thought of Darwin . Still it's cool to think things I've created might end up in people's games. I hope you get the demo soon - isn't there a rumor that everyone's getting it on the 12th or something?

I have a quick question regarding options/settings in the game... I just went in to change things around a bit to help the game run smoother, but it won't let me choose aging and how long each stage is. Is this because I need to actually be in a game, or am I missing something? Thanks!

Is this because I need to actually be in a game, or am I missing something? Thanks! I don't know for sure, but my guess is that you do this when you're playing a household, since you can set it differently for different households. I'd try going into a save or new game and trying to make the changes there. Have you heard somewhere that some change of these settings makes the game run more smoothly? I'm curious too, now.
